Friday, September 18th Update
Thank you for attending our Open House and the Pancake dinner sponsored by School Council. We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to see your child’s classroom, have them show you some of their new routines and expectations and share some of the work they have already began to engage in. We are off to a great year of learning.
Thank you to our School Council and Calgary Stampede Batter Boys for hosting our annual Pancake Dinner. The food was delicious and it was lovely seeing our community gather together on a beautiful September evening.
School Shirts: We are happy to offer an online store where parents can choose to purchase school shirts, crewnecks and hoodies. Please watch the sizing guide on the website as there are no refunds or returns. Ordering deadline is October 10th at midnight.
Field trips and Experiences: Please note that teachers plan for unique experiences throughout the year and calculate costs based on their class numbers. If you are planning an extended absence, it is important you notify teachers and the office when you can.
Terry Fox Run – This is our 20th year of participating in the Terry Fox run. On Thursday, September 24th students K-6 will be joining our school wide Terry Fox Run. Please help your child dress for the weather. We will be collecting “Toonies for Terry” on run day. If you would like to contribute a larger donation to the Terry Fox Foundation, please use this link to access the LBS fundraising page.

The first School Council meeting of the year is Tuesday, September 22nd 6:00 in the Learning Commons. This is our AGM.
Healthy Hunger
School Council arranges for Healthy Hunger lunches to be available to students. This is an optional lunch program that is also a fundraiser for School Council. Parents will need to set up their Healthy Hunger accounts, adding students to the proper classroom. Create a login or login again at https://healthyhunger.ca/ Lunch orders are being set up over the next couple of weeks. Mark your calendar for these Healthy Hunger dates:

Lake Bonavista School Apple & Pear Fundraiser!
New this year, the Lake Bonavista School Apple & Pear Fundraiser! A great way to support the school while filling lunch boxes with delicious, healthy snacks and for all your favourite fall baking—from apple crisps and pies to muffins and homemade treats!
We’re offering a selection of Gala, Ambrosia and Honeycrisp apples, D’Anjou and Bartlett pears, as well as no-sugar-added dehydrated apple chips and apple drinks.
Orders are open until September 28, 2026, with pickup on Tuesday, October 13th from 2:30–3:30 p.m at Lake Bonavista School.
