Peace Education

As a Montessori school, we believe in teaching students the skills they require to independently resolve conflict, live in harmony, and make daily choices to support emotional well-being of self and others. Through peace education, teachers explicitly model peace talks to facilitate healthy communication, promote active citizenship through the care for plants, animals, and communities to encourage empathy, and to set students up for success within real world contexts.

Digital Citizenship

Please take some time to review our Digital Citizenship page on our website with information on personal devices. Classroom use of personal electronic devices is at the discretion of the classroom teacher to enhance learning. Students should not be using smartwatches during the school hours to text or take/receive phone calls.

 

Veterans Essential Drive

Room 7 and 8 are leading the Veterans’ Essential Drive. From now until November 8^th, we will be collecting the essentials (toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper, soap, tissue, shampoo, etc). We welcome all donations.

Healthy Hunger Volunteers

November School Council Meeting

As a parent/guardian at Lake Bonavista School, you are automatically a part of School Council and invited to each meeting. The next meeting is Tuesday, November 7^th at 6:00pm. Grade 1-2 teachers will be joining for a class update that will include information on how literacy instruction occurs in Montessori lower elementary classes. Stay tuned for more information from Council.
