What a snowy week we have had. Students have loved playing outside and have even more fun when they are dressed for the weather. We continue to have an OVERFLOWING amount of lost and found. The best way for us to ensure items return to their owners is when they are labelled. Please take a moment to label your child’s winter wear so if it does become part of the lost and found items, we can get it to them right away.
Our annual Winter Event will be December 12th from 6:30-8:00pm. Kindergarten students will get early entrance. Throughout the evening there will be activities in classrooms and performances in the gym. To accommodate our small gym size, performances will be rotating by grade. We ask that you stay as a family for this event as each activity will require adult support/supervision. We are excited for a “fill a sock” initiative for The Mustard Seed. More information to come.
This week will be having traffic/safety experts and various stakeholders to participate in a community walk to support our residency work with Active and Safe Routes to School with EverActive Schools. We continue to struggle with traffic concerns at the front of the school as the “no stopping zone” is overlooked by many adults. We continue to encourage families to use the street at the south of the school for drop off, eliminating the need to cross roads. The walk across the field is a great way to start the day although it does require planning to get to the doors before they close at 8:10. As we have soft entry from 8:00-8:10, that means class time begins at 8:10 and students should be in their classrooms for attendance. Safety over convenience makes a huge difference when making decisions around drop off and pick up. Thank you for supporting our community.
Did you know we are gathering items for loose parts? Loose parts can be things like: popsicle sticks, buttons, washers, keys, paint chips, etc.
