May 1st Update
It’s hard to believe that today marks the start of our final two months of school. Things are definitely not slowing down at LBS and we still have lots of learning to do.
Thank you to all of our parents who came to PEACE Night and those who supported the silent auction. If you were the top bidder, please pick up your item at the school.
Traffic Safety
Thursday morning, we had the traffic safety team of Calgary Police and Parking Authority. We are grateful for their support to help cut down u turns, jaywalking and stopping/parking in the no stopping zone. Please prioritize safety and modelling respect for our children over convenience.
Class Lists 2026-2027
The organization of class lists is a complicated process involving many factors that we consider to create balanced class lists. We do not accept requests for specific teachers or friend groups. Teachers are keenly aware of good working relationships and will always seek to ensure students have positive relationships in their new classrooms. If you have a request, you can outline the qualities of a teacher that you will feel will be a fit for your child. Please know that we will consider this information in planning but not guarantee the request will be granted. Our teachers work hard to make the best decisions for each learners. Thank you for trusting their professionalism.
Playground
During school hours, the playgrounds are not to be used by the public. A reminder to kindergarten parents that after morning kindergarten and before afternoon kindergarten, the playgrounds are often used by classes and/or during our lunch recess. Thank you for understanding.
Spring Event – May 7

Volunteers Needed for Family Dance
Our dance needs a great roster of people to make it run smoothly. Shifts are conveniently split to allow families to have fun together and volunteering earns your family a free ticket. It's a great chance for grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. to be involved in the kids' school since police checks are not required for this event. Sweet Treats Needed for Family Dance
We’re looking for donations of all kinds of treats, from cakes to cupcakes, cookies, and beyond for our annual cake walk! Whether homemade or store-bought, your goodies will have our little dancers and their families grinning ear-to-ear. Donations of any size are welcome, and if you can list the ingredients (especially for common allergens), it’s icing on the cake! Gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan options are always a hit and especially appreciated by families with dietary restrictions.
Ready to sweeten up our night? Sign up online here.
Thank you for making our Cake Walk the sweetest stop at the dance!
Raffle Donations Needed for Family Dance
Our community has been incredibly generous, donating a slew of great raffle items for our family dance. We're hoping our school community can help out directly or via connections with their local business network to sweeten the pot even more. We are especially looking for "fun" physical items that kids will get excited about. So far, many of our donations have been gift cards that are amazing but we want to make sure our little learners who might not be able to read yet will get to feel just as excited! Reach out to Noa at noaede80@gmail.com if you are able to donate.
