May 15th Update

Thank you to Ms. Romanko and Mr. Ripka for sharing a kindergarten update to School Council on Tuesday night. It was great to hear student voice on the process, impact and learning from hatching chicks. Thank you to School Council for supporting the egg projects in our K-2 classrooms. We have loved the chicks, ducks and geese and have learned so much from the process of caring for a living creature.

As we had our last school council meeting of the year, we want to thank the LBS School Council Executive for all of their incredible contributions to our school this year!! We appreciate your support and passion for enhancing the experience of learning at our school.

Kindergarten classes have been exploring the concept of community helpers and had a special guest firefighter come to talk about how they help Calgarians. Grade 3 and 4 classes each spent a day at Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area. They explored the beautiful trails and spring environment of this lovely Alberta landscape. Grade 1 and 2 students said goodbye to the ducks and geese who are making their way back to the farm this weekend. Grade 5 and 6 students are busy preparing for a week at Outdoor School and all of the incredible learning that will occur during this time.

Lost and Found

Once again our lost and found is growing and growing. It is again on display in the halls for students to view. It is incredibly helpful to have hoodies, jackets, toques and water bottles labelled. We can easily return these to your child when they are labelled.  All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the day May 29th. Please encourage your child to look for any missing items.
