May 14^th Update 

This year we have continued our focus on writing and written expression. During this week’s organizational day, teachers will be celebrating the success of the instructional strategies they have introduced for a variety of writing tasks. This will help to inform organizational strategies for next year’s school development plan. Students have been immersed in writing tasks throughout the year from poetry to story writing, non-fiction writing to persuasive letters. Ask your child about some of their favorite formats of written expression. 

Our Gardening Club is in full bloom – thanks to our amazing parent volunteers who are taking the lead to keep our garden blossoming. Students help every Tuesday at lunch recess with planting bulbs, picking weeds and tending to our beautiful garden space.  

This week marked our last School Council meeting of the year. Although the work of council continues, we want to take this opportunity to thank ALL of the executive Council members for their dedication, effort, support and commitment to our school. Each of these roles is valuable and contributes to the enhancement of the work our staff do each and every day. 

We are looking forward to our upcoming residency with Inclusive Hoops. Paperwork has gone home – watch for these consent forms and return as soon as possible.

Casino 

Our biggest fundraiser of the year is our Casino and we need YOUR help to make it a success. This two day fundraiser allows our school to have amazing enhancements. Please sign up for a time to volunteer and help make a difference at LBS.
