March 20th Update

As we head into Spring Break, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of you for your continued support and engagement in our school community. It was wonderful to see so many of you at our recent student-led conferences. These moments are such a meaningful way for children to share their growth, reflect on their learning, and take ownership of their journey; something we deeply value in our Montessori environment.

Thank you as well for supporting our Book Fair. Your enthusiasm helps nurture a love of reading and contributes to building a rich, vibrant literacy culture within our school.

Over the past two weeks, our students have been deeply engaged in place-based learning through our work with Yellow Steps. This experience has invited children to connect more closely with the land, community, and their own sense of belonging. We look forward to continuing this important work when we return. I hope your child has shared their experiences and discoveries with your.

Our inquiry into “connection” remains at the heart of our classrooms. Students have been exploring the many ways we connect; with ourselves, with one another, and with the world around us. In true Montessori spirit, we honour that “the child is both a hope and a promise for mankind,” and we strive to cultivate environments where each child can build meaningful relationships and discover their place in the world.

Through our daily work, we see children practicing empathy, collaboration, and respect thus laying the foundation for a more peaceful and connected future.

We wish all of our families a restful and joyful Spring Break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back, refreshed and ready to continue our learning together.

Warm regards,

Jennifer Rooke, Principal

Gymnastics

We will begin gymnastics in our regularly scheduled gym classes from Monday, March 30th - Friday April 17th. Safety routines, cooperation and sportsmanship are taught and reviewed in each class.

This physical activity opportunity will help students acquire individual skills through a variety of developmentally appropriate movement activities.

It is important for students to come to school prepared to be actively engaged. The following guidelines are very helpful…

HEAD TO TOE - READY TO GO!!!

Head:  long hair pulled back

Ears/Throat/Wrist:  jewelery off

Shirt: one-layer shirt

Waist: tucked in

Pants: sporty pants or shorts, no belts or zippers

Ankles: pants rolled up if ankles are covered
