June 14th Update
Our Montessori tenet for June is Independence. Students are demonstrating independence each and every day. One way is to care for their belongings. Our lost and found will be set up until the end of year and then packed up on Appeals Day. Anything unclaimed will be donated.
Staffing Update
June is a time of change and transition. We would like to announce staffing changes for the 2024-2025 at this time. We wish Miss Kassam the best of luck as her teaching career will be taking her to the Hamptons School next year. During her time here, Miss Kassam has taught many grades and has made wonderful connections. She has contributed much to the school beyond her classroom at LBS over many years and she will be missed. We are excited for her new adventures. We are also saying goodbye to Miss Suzee. She will be embarking on a new adventure next year to have time with friends and family. She is looking forward to many adventures on the west coast. Although her time at LBS has been short, she has made positive contributions to our school. After a long career at Lake Bonavista School, we wish Sandy Hostetler the absolute best in her retirement. Sandy has held different roles at our school from lunchroom to ELL assistant. She has been a positive support to many students and we will miss her. We are also saying goodbye to Miss Davies. Miss Davies joined us in January on a temporary contract to teach morning kindergarten. Since then her time was expanded and she was able to share her immense talent for art with students from grades 1-6. Miss Davies has connected curriculum to art projects in thoughtful and masterful ways and we have greatly benefited from her skills and talents.

2024-2025 School Year
Mark your calendars – as we end this year we are also thinking ahead for next year. Wednesday, August 28th will be our traditional Sneak-a-Peek from 12:00-1:00. Next year’s calendar will be available soon on our website.
Don’t forget to register before the first deadline for bussing for next year for your address to be considered for congregated bus stops in the summer planning. Apply by June 16th!
Learning Commons
Mrs. Smith thanks everyone for returning their library books. It’s never too late to return a found book. Please check around your home for any library books that might have not yet been returned.

Class List
Staff work extremely hard to create balanced class lists with many factors to consider. Please know that although requests are accepted, they can not always be honoured. Teachers know the class dynamics well and work to ensure all students have a preferred classmate with them as well as a well balanced setting.
