June 12^th Update 

Classes have been bustling with a variety of projects and work. June is certainly not a time to slow down. Students have been building, creating, writing and sharing. From intricate puppets to beautiful poetry, students are intellectually engaged in work in their classrooms. With only two weeks left in the year, we know this engagement will continue. Continue to watch instagram and blog updates to see all of the great things happening in our classrooms. 

As part of our Montessori commitment to Care for Ourselves, One Another and our Place, we are encouraging students to take responsibility for their belongings and shared spaces. Our Lost and Found area is currently overflowing with clothing, water bottles, lunch containers, and other personal items. We invite families to remind children to check that they have all of their belongings before leaving school each day and to label items whenever possible. Items that are labelled have a higher chance of being returned to their owner. Developing independence and responsibility for personal possessions is an important life skill and an extension of the respect and care we strive to foster within our learning community. 

Learning Commons 

Library books are due to the Learning Commons. Please help your child pack them to return back to the school.

Yearbook 

Ordering information for yearbooks has not come out. We currently have not provided a sales link for yearbook. If you have provided consent to School Council for yearbook but not provided internal and external media consent to CBE then your child’s image will not be included in the yearbook. Informed changes to media consent can be provided to the office and can be emailed to LMTainshJones@cbe.ab.ca no later than Wednesday, June 17 at noon.  

Casino 

Our biggest fundraiser of the year is our Casino and we need YOUR help to make it a success. This two day fundraiser allows our school to have amazing enhancements. Please sign up for a time to volunteer and help make a difference at LBS.
