January 31st update 

We had a great turn out for open house on Thursday, where prospective families could come to learn more about the Montessori Alternative program at LBS. Thank you to our School Council and MAPSS for setting up a table. We also appreciate all of our staff who took the evening to come to promote the work at our school. 

This week all students had a chance to work with Dan, from Elev8 Lacrosse. They learned beginning lacrosse skills and it was easy to see some students have found a new passion! Thank you to School Council for covering this cost. 

We anticipate the start of next week to be quite cold. Please ensure students are dressed appropriately. We will be going outside, if weather permits, and our students have much more fun when they are dressed well for outside play. 

Report Card Viewing 

Report cards are available for viewing on Monday, January 27 through your PowerSchool account. Remember there is a viewing window that closes so be sure to print or save a copy for future reference. 

New Registrations – How to Register 

The window for registrations to be included for lottery is Tuesday, February 11th at noon. If your child is currently enrolled at LBS, no action is required. Younger siblings will need to be registered in this timeline to ensure they are included in lottery. 

New Carpets 

Thanks to MAPSS, each classroom has been gifted a brand new classroom carpet. Mr. Donato worked so hard to prep classrooms for this swap and staff were busy today putting new carpets in classrooms. Thank you to MAPSS for this beautiful upgrade to our Montessori prepared environment.

Calling All Sweethearts!  

Our Valentine’s Dance is coming up, and we’re looking for some sweet treats to make our Cake Walk extra special! Whether you’re a baking enthusiast or a store-bought savior, we’d love your help to stock the Cake Walk with delicious goodies for our kids and families to enjoy. 

Here’s how you can help: 

  • What to Bring: Cakes, cupcakes, cookies, or any other sweet treat you love! 
  • Homemade or Store-Bought: Either is perfect! 
  • Label Ingredients: Please include a list of ingredients (especially allergens). If your treat is gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan, let us know—these options are always appreciated! 
  • When to Drop Off: Bring your donation to the school on the day of the dance. 

Your contribution will make a big difference in creating a fun and successful event. Thank you for sharing the love (and the sugar)!

Our Valentine’s Dance is just around the corner, and we’re gearing up for one of the most exciting parts of the evening—the raffle! But we need your help to make it truly spectacular. 

We’re looking for donations of raffle items, and this is where you can shine! Whether it’s a gift card, a fun item, or a unique experience, your contribution will help us raise funds for our Montessori program and create an unforgettable event for our kids.
