January 26th Update

This was an exciting week for room 3 students who moved their classroom to the Education Centre and the beltline of Calgary for the entire week. Thank you to our volunteers who supported Ms. Kassam and her class in making this trip possible. Each day was full of inquiry, curiosity, reflection and questions. They explored public art, parks and city services; learned about contemporary art and galleries and interviewed CBE senior leadership and a School Trustee. We are grateful for the work of our grade 3-4 team to acquire this opportunity for students.

This week we highlighted Family Literacy Week. On January 31st it will be a theme day. Staff and students are encouraged to dress up like their favorite book character or author.

Montessori Tenet

Responsibility is an important tenet of Montessori education. Room 6 worked on an act of service to the school by setting up, folding and displaying all of our lost and found items. One way we can practice responsibility is by tending to our items and taking care of our winter clothes. We hope to see as much of our lost and found items reclaimed by their owners next week!
