Happy New Year! We hope all of our families had a wonderful winter break. We are so happy to welcome everyone back. It has been a chilly start to the year. We were lucky to get a couple of days outside before the polar vortex landed.

Montessori Tenet

Our tenet of the month is responsibility. There is a beautiful balance in the Montessori philosophy of freedom and responsibility. Dr. Maria Montessori said, “the greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence.” We believe that our students are capable. Capable of learning, of taking care of their belongings, of being respectful, of making age appropriate

Decisions, of making a difference in our school! We support students in being responsible for themselves and their learning.

 

Cold Weather

When possible, we are outside. This week we have been inside due to the extreme cold. Please continue to dress or support your child in dressing for the weather. Our lost and found is overflowing. Please support us by labelling winter gear so we can return it to the rightful owner sooner!

The School and Parent Council is seeking your valuable input.  We kindly request your completion of this brief survey, which will contribute to our decision- making process moving forward.  This includes updating our volunteer list.  Volunteers are essential to making our events and organizations run.  The events we take on are dependent on the support of volunteers like you.

Yummy perogies and sausage are available from the local and well-loved, Prairie Gourmet Perogies. Shopping is open now until February 8th at 11:59 pm. Order pick up will be on February 22nd at 2:15 – 3:15 pm in the LBS teachers parking lot. Follow the link or QR code to register as a seller. Use the password “LBSCOUNCIL”. You’ll receive an email with your personalized ordering link to share with family and friends outside of LBS school. You’ll be responsible for picking up all orders made under your link.
