This week we were honoured to host the vibrant and exhilarating Lion Dance performance by the Jing Wo Cultural Association. A big thanks to the Lee family and Mr. Link for making this opportunity possible for our school. The Lion Dance is a traditional Chinese dance performed during Lunar New Year celebrations and other cultural festivals. It is believed to bring good luck and fortune and it embodies the values of courage, wisdom and strength.
We also took time this week to celebrate a love of Literacy with our Family Literacy Day. Thank you to all of our families who were able to join us for this reading event. We made sure every student had a connection to an adult and a good book.
On March 5th, LBS will be “going” to the Opera. We are excited to host a virtual performance by Calgary Opera. Watch for more details to come from Mrs. Kawchuk.
We have a NEW website! We are continuing to work out the details of this new site and will add our stories to the site as soon as we are able to.
