Thank you for joining us for our Winter Solstice event. The performances in the gym and craft & activities around the school kept our school community busy. We hope you enjoyed the time with your family and mingling with other Montessori families. We are grateful for the overwhelming support of the Pet Treats initiative. Grade 1 and 2 students were busy baking, bagging, and advertising. All proceeds are going to the Calgary Humane Society. Students will continue to learn about how this organization supports our city. We are grateful for your participation and support. In addition, thank you for your contributions to the Calgary Food Bank.

Gratitude

The December Montessori tenet is Gratitude.  December is a great month to reflect on all we are grateful for. At our winter event, families contributed to the mitten tree with messages of what they are grateful for. Our forest of trees is overflowing with wonderful messages.

 

Spirit Week

For the last week before break, we will be having a special theme each day. These are completely optional for students to participate in.

Monday – Ready set Glow: Dress up and show off your best holiday bling (hats, headbands, etc)

Tuesday – Rock your Socks: wear your favorite winter or fuzzy socks

Wednesday – Gettin’ Grinchy: Dress up in green or your Grinchy attire.

Thursday – Winter Wonderland: Wear white, snowflakes, glitter...

Friday – Ugly sweater or holiday shirt day

 

Open House – NEW students

Tuesday, January 9^th will be an open house/meet&greet for all new students Kindergarten-grade 2 who are looking at applying to Lake Bonavista School. Please share the attached invite flyer to any friends and neighbours who might be interested in the Montessori program.
