Montessori Tenet  

Our tenet this month is “Prepared Environment”. Maria Montessori believed that a calm and well organized environment would provide opportunity for children to facilitate, explore and learn with greater independence and freedom. Teachers create tasks and activities on shelves, provide specific lessons for using the materials and then students can engage with them at their own pace and with independence.  Ask your child what materials are available on the shelves in their room? How are they organized, from a students point of view? 

Support Staff Appreciation Week

Gymnastics   

Gymnastics has continued this week and our climber has been opened. This extends movement to vertical spaces. Students learn the skills to safely climb and maneuver through various aspects of the climber. Next week will be the last week of gymnastics and will end with Mission Impossible. Please continue to be head to toe prepared for movement. As we progressively add more equipment, it becomes even more important. 

MAPSS – Montessori Alternative Public School Society Presents PEACE Night  

Thank you to MAPSS for planning and arranging the PEACE night featuring Tania Johnson, R. Psych, R.P.T. It was a great opportunity for all three Montessori schools to connect and learn together. We are already looking forward to next year’s event! Thank you to all of the volunteers who made this possible.
