Montessori Tenet
Our tenet this month is “Prepared Environment”. An advantage of a prepared environment is that students have access to the materials they need when they need them. Shelves are prepared in a way that students can use what they need and contribute to responsibly putting things away. Organization helps students focus on their task at hand with the materials that support their work.
Experience Metis
Thank you to School Council for supporting our offsite residency with Experience Metis. We had a great week to learning from our experts. We have one more day in April for classes to participate in this residency. It has been a rich experience having every student in the school involved. Teachers and the Metis Knowledge Keepers personalized each opportunity to connect to curriculum and engage students in a way that inspired curiosity.
Gymnastics
Gymnastics has begun. Please watch for information from your child’s teacher on how to be head to toe prepared for movement. As we progressively add more equipment, it becomes even more important for students to be prepared.
Traffic Safety
As the weather gets warmer, more students will be walking and biking. Thank you for being extra cautious on our streets before and after school. We ask that you do not drop students off in the staff parking lot or have students walk through the staff parking lot. Not all of our staff begin their work day at the same time. That means cars can be coming in and out of that lot making it unsafe for students to walk through.
